According to Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz, war with Iran is coming after it announced it has violated the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action nuclear deal’s limits on enriched uranium stockpiles.
In an interview with Army Radio, Katz said:
“Israel will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, even if it has to act alone on that. [Iran’s] mistakes in the gray area will lead it to the red zone — a war in which it will be hit hard.”
In the wake of Iran’s announcement Monday that it would move on to the next phase of its withdrawal from the JCPOA—enriching uranium beyond the 3.67-percent limit currently imposed by the accords. As TruNews reported, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now urging Europe to follow President Donald Trump’s lead and scrap the nuclear deal and impose crushing sanctions on Tehran.
In his Army Radio interview, Katz agreed with the Israeli premier, adding:
“This is a wake-up call for Europe. Feeding the Iranian tiger will not help; only an aggressive policy and sanctions and support for the U.S. policy will quickly show that it is a paper tiger.”
This new development comes in the midst of a news day that reads like the screenplay from a Tom Clancy spy thriller. A fire broke out inside one of Russia’s most top-secret nuclear powered deep sea submarines, killing more than half of its crew. President Vladimir Putin cleared his schedule immediately to being consultations with his top military officials. Meanwhile, Vice President Pence abruptly canceled his travel plans to New Hampshire to deal with an emergency.
