Three strong and shallow earthquakes (M6.3, M6.0 and M6.3) hit off New Caledonia On May 19, 2019 within 13 hours. The first one hit at 1:23am (UTC), followed by a second one at 2:27pm (UTC). 20 minutes later, the last M6.3 earthquake struck almost at the same position than the two others. Will a bigger quake follow?

There were no immediate reports of damage or tsunami warnings.
The first quake was recorded 179 km (111 miles) east of Tadine in the Loyalty Islands at a shallow depth of 20 km (12.4 miles).

The second M6.0 quake was recorded 175 km (109 miles) east of Tadine, New Caledonia at a shallow depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).

The third M6.3 quake was recorded 175 km (109 miles) east of Tadine, New Caledonia at a shallow depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), less than 30 minutes after the second one.
