As journalists across the world continue to go through the huge assortment of leaked documents from George Soros and Open Society, new information is coming to light everyday. Most recently, it has been discovered in a leaked memo, that Soros had laid out plans to use a “national movement” to reform local police forces based a set of strict federal guidelines. With the apparent aim of creating a federal police force.
This news comes to little surprise for anyone who understands to what extent Soros is involved with the Black Lives Matter movement. But it does confirm what the motive was behind helping Black Lives Matter through donation of funds and through the support of numerous activist groups under Open Society Foundations. And ultimately would take control of police forces from the local level and put it in the hands of federal government. The intended result of Soros’s plan is not far off from that of a police state.
George Soros and His Plans for a Federal Police Force
The document from DCLeaks shows that the U.S. branch of Open Society conducted a meeting titled, “Police Reform: How to Take Advantage of the Crisis of the Moment and Drive Long-Term Institutional Change in Police-Community Practice.” The document discusses the police killings of African-Americans in the United States as an opportunity to “create a national movement” for police reform, by enacting federal guidelines on locally run police forces.
The U.S Programs (USP) of Open Society Foundations (OSF) intended on taking control of the local police forces through the use of this national movement. Below is an excerpt from the leaked document:
“We are gaining a better understanding of these efforts in order to determine how best USP can use this moment to create a national movement. We have already had a set of preliminary conversations with about a dozen key stakeholders and will undertake a field scan to map the areas of work currently underway to advance police reform, including an assessment of the redundancies and gaps in work, and opportunities for collaboration. As we proceed, we will engage the funder network we helped to establish, the Executive Alliance on Men and Boys of Color, which now includes forty foundations.”
The document goes on to state that multiple Soros-funded organizations have worked with President Obama on creating a police reform task force. And also discusses the fact that the federal government does not currently have the amount of authority that OSF advocates for.
Perhaps more promising is the taskforce empaneled by President Obama on policing, which developed more than 60 recommendations to provide direct support and guidance to localities on how to improve policing practices. (USP Advisory Board member Bryan Stevenson served as a member of the taskforce and a number of grantees, including NAACP-Legal Defense Fund [LDF], Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights [LCCHR], and others, testified at its hearings.)
Since the release of the taskforce’s recommendations earlier this month, there has been much discussion about how best to ensure effective implementation given the federal government’s limited authority to dictate reform at the local level.
In the memo Black Lives Matter is also listed as a pivotal part of the national campaign for police reform.
“Another layer of grassroots and youth-oriented groups like Freedom Side, Ferguson Action, Black Lives Matter, and Million Hoodies Movement for Justice are also advocating for specific reforms.”
The Importance of OSF’s Advocacy for a Federally Run Police Force
George Soros has spent significant time, money and man-power bringing Black Lives Matter and other movements to a national spotlight. Not only has he funded the movement directly, but has also used organizations under OSF to support the movement. Often times, Open Society and George Soros have done this under the guise of fighting for racial equality. But when looking at the entire picture, the real goal becomes apparent.
Soros has the overarching goal of using the movement to create a federally run police force, based on guidelines that he and his Foundation advocate for. Ultimately, he is using the racially-charged movement to create an environment ripe for federal reform and control of the police.
There is little question as to whether or not there are issues within the American justice system. However, there is reason to be skeptical of the federal government doing a better job. Transferring power from the local forces to federally governing bodies results in a centralize controlled police that would take power out of the hands of state and local governments. While Black Lives Matter has claimed advocacy for police reform and community review boards, the true result would be federal control of these forces. And Soros wants to be the one to decide how this police reform will happen.
And as we have seen, it’s very specifically about putting more power in the hands of big government.
