A small magnitude 2.3 earthquake hit near Granite Falls Sunday morning – the latest in a string of small earthquakes that has rattled northwest Washington but didn’t cause any damage.
In all, seven earthquakes have struck that area since Friday, the biggest one registering at 3.5 magnitude. The site is about 50 miles northeast of Seattle in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains.
The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network says the most recent one hit just after 6:45 a.m. Sunday. A magnitude 2.1 tremor happened just four hours before that.
