THREE earthquakes have struck the Greek city of Patras, just miles from holiday hotspot Zakynthos.
Two more aftershocks, each measuring around 3 on the scale then followed.
Dozens of houses have been damaged by the shocks, which began just six miles below the surface.
Popular holiday destination Zakynthos is located just 38 miles from Patras.
The party island has long been a favoured haven for young British tourists.
The Athens Observatory’s geodynamic institute said no injuries had been immediately reported.
Greece’s capital is located around 185 miles from the epicentre the seismic activity.
