Four earthquakes, including one with a magnitude of 4.1, struck a remote area of San Bernardino County on Sunday morning, according to Caltech and the U.S. Geological Survey.

The most powerful of the small swarm, which had a preliminary magnitude of 4.0, struck at approximately 7:32 a.m. It had a depth of roughly 1.3 miles.

The quake was centered 5 miles west southwest of Ludlow, 39 miles north of Joshua Tree and 47 miles east southeast of Barstow, USGS’s incident page stated.

Light-to-moderate shaking was reported in the immediate area where the quake hit, according to USGS. KTLA viewers in Big Bear, Victorville and Barstow said they felt it, with some describing it as a strong jolt followed by a rolling motion.

The temblor was proceeded by a magnitude-2.8 quake that was centered five miles from Ludlow at 7:17 a.m., according to USGS.

About three minutes after the larger earthquake, a smaller 2.2 tremor jolted the exact same area, Caltech’s website showed.

The smallest of the four quakes, a magnitude 1.9, struck at approximately 1:44 a.m., according to Caltech.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages.
