A strong earthquake of magnitude 5.7 was recorded on Wednesday morning in the Mexican state of Chiapas, no casualties so far.
The information was provided by the National Seismological Service of Mexico, who said that the quake struck about 16 kilometers from the town of Tonala, in the state of Chiapas.

The quake occurs at a depth of about 100 kilometers. So far unknown if it no longer damage or casualties.
The authorities have started the statewide monitoring to assess the situation.

Initially it reported the quake had a magnitude of 6.3, but later corrected.
