VANCOUVER (CBS SF) — The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 6.1 earthquake has struck off the coast of British Columbia.
The USGS reports the quake’s epicenter was located 116 miles (186 kilometers) southwest of Bella Bella, Canada at a depth of 23.6 kilometers. The quake hit at 6:56 a.m. PDT.
NOAA said a tsunami is not expected.
There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
On Thursday, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean near Eureka.
